An evening filled with new writing, spoken word, and stand-up comedy. Celebrating the best that young people can do and everything that new, local, and emerging artists have to offer. Take a seat for your chance to get an insight into new, future, and exciting projects. Stick around afterward for an opportunity to meet and network with other young creatives and the Burnt Orange team in a relaxed, friendly environment.

We welcome performances of any style, from New Writing, Spoken Word, Comedy or anything else you’d like to share, hosted at a beautiful venue with a friendly audience and relaxed atmosphere to network after the performances.
Follow our social media and sign up to the newsletter to be first to hear when our next Breaking Ground event is taking place and to submit your work for performance.
On the night you’ll be given up to 10 minutes of performance time, receive feedback from the Burnt Orange team and visiting Industry Professionals, as well as receiving support through the process including rehearsal space at the venue if needed.
We are happy to support you with finding your team, and can connect writers, directors and actors together if needed. Please get in touch and let us know what you need, we are ready for a flexible, tailored approach specific to each participant.
We hope we can use Breaking Ground as an opportunity to collaborate, network with and celebrate our wonderful community of young creatives. We will be hosting events regularly throughout the year and can’t wait to see how this community will grow.
