Burnt Orange Theatre Youth Board
We are delighted to be establishing our first ever Youth Board!
The Vision
The Youth Board will help develop the vision of Burnt Orange and offer insight as to what young people actually need from us.
Each board member will have a specialist focus, and will be encouraged to contribute to all parts of Burnt Orange life; idea development, recruitment, auditions, project running and evaluation processes.
No area of the company is off limits; Board members can shape the role to suit themselves and their interests.

Youth Board members will be visible members of the team, brining the voice of young people into every element of our work, and helping us re-imagine the Burnt Orange of the future.

We strive for an environment where young people's ideas, expertise and experience are valued just as highly as those of older adults. While there are many experts involved in running Burnt Orange, young people are the current experts in being young.
The Details
6 local young people aged 16-23 will make up the youth section of our Board.
Participation in the youth board is a minimum 1 year, maximum 2 year commitment, with older members supporting the onboarding of new members after their term.
The Youth Board meets quarterly (4 times a year) in person in Hammersmith, to hear presentations of strategies and policies, and contribute ideas to and feedback on our upcoming provisions.
Meetings are mandatory and repeated absence will result in removal from the board.

Members receive compensation of £20 per board meeting to cover their time and/or travel expenses.

The Youth Board is generously supported by The Daisy Trust.
