Join Burnt Orange Theatre this summer for an exciting four-week course designed specifically for young artists who are ready to take their first steps into the world of facilitation.
Whether you're a performer, director, or writer, this practical training programme will equip you with the skills, confidence and insight needed to lead others in creative spaces.
This course is ideal for anyone interested in working with young people, running workshops, or pursuing a career in participatory arts, education, or community engagement. Following participation, we hope to welcome graduates of the programme into facilitation and supporting creative roles within Burnt Orange Theatre projects, including workshops and performance projects.
Eligibility:

Open to anyone aged 16–23
-
You must be able to attend all four sessions to take part. If this is not possible, or you'd like to discuss this further, please let one of the team know.
Cost & Booking
This course is free to attend, but in order to secure your place, we ask for a refundable deposit. This deposit will be returned in full once you have attended the first session, or if you cancel outside of our 48 hour notice period.
Any cancellations within 48hrs of the event will not be refunded.
If the cost of the deposit presents a barrier to your participation, please get in touch — we’re committed to ensuring our work remains accessible to all young people.
You can also choose to donate your deposit or contribute a higher amount as a gesture of support. Donations are entirely optional and help us continue to run programmes like this. Any additional funds received will go directly towards expanding our work and creating more free opportunities for young artists in the future. “I had never considered facilitating as an option in my practice before these workshops! I’ve discovered a lot about my abilities, how facilitating can work in different contexts and settings, and how I can fit it into my wider practice. Thank you!”
2025 Participant
“I was very shy and awkward in a group. This course has definitely opened me up and I’m not afraid to fail in games, to ask for clarification and to engage proactively. Plus I have learned a number of games which are very helpful!”
